About

Art has become a new passion in my life. In part this has been inspired by my daughter, Sarah, who has enriched my museum and gallery visits with her expertise, insights and companionship. But this new found enthusiasm has also been fueled in other ways. For the past two years I’ve been experimenting with creating art, and since September 2013 I’ve been an Information Services volunteer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

New York is a mecca for art lovers but most people default to the usual large Manhattan-based museums. These are great but there are also wonderful museums in the other boroughs; great galleries around Manhattan; and some unexpected places to see art like the New York Public Library and the walls of buildings.

Like NY Culinary Finds, this blog will bring you interesting and unexpected places to see art, as well as hidden treasures in places you are probably already visiting.
